COVID-19 at Kathy Quilts!

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH LIFE CHANGES?

Who would have thought just a few short or long months ago pretty much everyone's life has had some serious changes all because of a Flu like virus called the Corona Virus or COVID-19.  At the beginning of March, we had a huge quilting show in Washington state, in Puyallup.  We had heard about this new virus that was going around but thought that people were really overreacting.  We thought it would just go away and life would go on and we would have one of the best growth years that Kathy Quilts! has ever seen. As we were traveling home from Puyallup we heard that all events that had more than 50 people attend had to be shut down.  We were so glad that we were able to complete our show and not get infected with COVID-19.

Our quilting shows that we have gone to for the last six years kept getting rescheduled or cancelled.  We were astounded that our little world was being turned upside down and our business as we knew it had virtually stopped save the few internet orders that were coming in. The internet accounted for half of our revenue in the beginning when we first started selling the Block RockiT 14+ a 15 inch, (the reason for the name is another story) long-arm machine that almost everyone could afford. These machines were so awesome that we had to start traveling to quilting shows to get the word out.

When we were traveling so much, nearly 25 major quilting shows a year, many things like our blog and newsletter because neglected. Now that we have more time at home we are changing our marketing strategy to help more people with quilting questions, how to use Block RockiT or Q'nique accessories or their machines. We will be sending our newsletter and more emails to keep our followers informed and share tips that make quilting more fun.
